There have only been a few under eye creams that I've tried in my lifetime, Avon's Anew eye cream, Pond's Age miracle eye cream, and Olay's total effects eye firming cream. The all didn't work, took forever to dry and were a waste of my time and money. The last one Olay's total effects eye firming cream drove me half mad. It drove me to buy an expensive under eye cream that is TBS' Wise Woman Eye Cream, and boy AM I GLAD!
Because my not so great experience with Olay's Total effects eye firming cream is still so fresh on my mind, my review of TBS' WW eye cream would be a comparison of the two (olay and tbs').
TBS' wise woman eye cream comes in a pump bottle which is a must for me hygienically speaking. The pump is easy to control so I get just the amount I want especially the iddibiddy drops I just want to add at the inner corner of my eye. It also has a plastic cap. Probably to add extra protection from elements, dust and what not for hygienic purposes. My only complaint about it is that the container is not see-through unlike their (TBS' seaweed line with the same pump container that are see-through). Olay's come in a pot which bummed me from the get go.
The cream itself: It claims to be a polypeptide based anti wrinkle cream. It's non-tinted, comes out white but dries clear. It dries and gets absorbed an about a minute or less, but you know when you're putting too much or have done that eye already when it gets a little too slick and taking longer than usual to dry. The cream is not too slick but not to thick and heavy either, just right for what I need. There's a very mild and pleasant scent to it. It's hardly noticeable, but I like it. Olay's Total effects eye firming cream is a little less creamy or a little watery compared to TBS' wise woman eye cream.
I actually bought this because Olay's total effects eye firming cream kept cake-ing up, creasing up, and distorting the color of my concealer, weather it's a regular cream under eye concealer like my prestige or a mineral concealer. This fact alone drove me to buy TBS' wise woman cream and I am grateful that I did. TBS' Wise Woman eye cream does not distort the color of my under eye concealer. TBS' wise woman under eye cream gets absorbed easier and alot quicker so it does not cake up my concealer. TBS' Wise Woman under eye cream (if I didn't give it enough time to completely dry) feels like a primer (well it does have Dimethicone) on my eye lids and under eye area. Having it on, my lids are less oily and that generally means my eye shadows last longer. It's possible the cotton fibers in it absorb my oils.
I have second, shallower, newer, shorter, line under my main or bigger smile line or wrinkle. After about a week's use of the TBS WW cream, i've noticed the lower wrinkle under both eyes have become shallower and less obvious. This excited me a great deal! I've had that second wrinkle for 2 or 3 years and now it seems that it's being handled. It's possible that it's the cotton fibers in the cream that's filling it up, but those two wrinkles stay shallower than they were prior to using the cream even after I was the cream off.
Unfortunately, not even this TBS Wise Woman cream can get rid of my dark patch under the inner corner of my eye, and that dark area at the inner corners of my eye.
It may not be the holy grail of eye cream but it sure comes a close second. I am very glad I bought this especially while and after I put on my under eye concealer. The price may put off some people even myself, but TBS always rotate their sales or promotions or campaigns of their different products so even if it's expensive it's possible to get a discount. I will just have to save up for the TBS' Wise Woman Eye Cream because I will definitely repurchase.
