REVIEW: The Face Shop Real Secret Perfect Contour Kit

Here's a very long overdue review of this product.  as some of you may really have been following me, with it comes to korean cosmetic brands i actually really started with the face shop.  i mean why wouldn't i?  it's just there.  granted there was this model with long hair that kinda looked like a guy but you weren't too sure, unless you actually saw winter sonata and if you're actually into korean dramas.  which at the time i wasn't.  and it was only because of rain and the boys over flowers that the latter half of my 2009 and my whole 2010 became what it was and is.

so one year later i finally get a round to reviewing one of the face shop products that you keep seeing me use in my make up tutorials.  i give you the real secret perfect contour kit.

Photobucket

it's a kit with a mirror and a 2 ended brush. the bristles are synthetic, really thin and really fantastic.

Photobucket

i can't tell you how i love this brush, this can be used for concealer and the stuff on this pallet.  i'm not sure if it's taklon but it sure is very fine (like pino) but densely pact.

as some of you who follow my youtube channel and my tutorials, you would see me often use this eye shadow base.

Photobucket

on the top of my hand is a not so great eye shadow, it's an elf (eyeslipsface.com) custom eyes in the shade of periwinkle.  as you can see the eye shadow without the eyeshadow base, is very pale while having the eye shadow base underneath, the periwinkle shade becomes vivid and i can actually see the satin finish of the shadow.  unfortunately, it doesn't last.  in fact if i make a mistake and put too much of the eyeshadow base, it would make my eye shadow crease more.

this is one wipe of the highlighter.  i like that it's a sheen and not a bunch of glitter.  so appropriately applied and with the appropriate flash and lighting this is very pretty.

Photobucket

the pore cover.  as some of you read my blog entries, you know that the back of my hand has big pores where my hairs jut out.  just like their pore minimizer it [the pore cover on this kit] covers the holes where the hairs of my hand come out.
what i don't ever use is the lip plumper.  i kinda don't need it.

Likes:

  • packaging in a kit.  very handy and compact
  • effective and useful products
  • WONDERFUL BRUSH that can be used on other products
  • it's lasting me, so it doesn't dry up in my drawer just because i don't use it too often
Dislikes:
  • the price as you know i'm not a great fan of the price of the face shop products so this fact will always be here
Will i repurchase:
prolly not, i prefer to have my eye shadow base separate from the rest of the items i may use on my face.  and really i bought the entire kit because of the eye shadow base because at the time there was no alternative.

actually apart from the price? the face shop products, the ones i've tried are really quite good.  so if you're tired of the usual l'oreal or revlon for what ever reason and wanna give korean brands a try?  try the face shop and you might get their 2011 calendar soon.
