FACE OF THE WEEK: ELLANA MINERALS FOUNDATIONS

So I wanted to take it easy on my skin after the peel that kinda didn't happen.  the gentlest and safest makeup that i can think of is mineral makeup.  so i can just dust it over and even out my skin on top of the obagi cream and my sun screen.
for someone like me, Ellana's mineral foundation is always on top of my head when it comes to mineral makeup.  they're inexpensive and accessible to me, now made more accessible since they can now be found in Trinoma, at Crossings, the Ramp
so i bought a couple of samples of cafe breve and french vanilla latte.  i was thinking that french vanilla latte was too fair for me! hahaha i was wrong :P  so i also bought cafe breve to sorta warm it up and here we are.
since i was only thinking of using it for the duration of my skin's 'sensitive phase' for about a week, i only bought the smallest size.  but they actually are available in 3 sizes.
here's the french vanilla latte blended on the back of my hand, and it COVERS!  i can hardly see my green vein!
but looking at it you'd think it's kinda yellow, huh?
here's the warmer cafe breve
equally awesome coverage!
so i combined the two
and here i am. photo below taken with the flash on. NOT at all reflective huh?
and without flash and me looking a bit constipated.
and here i am, still half asleep with the diphenhydramine (anti runny nose) meds in me. for my cheeks, it's Ellana's Happiness and on my eyes Ellana's Embrace shimmer shadow.
Likes:
  • really inexpensive
  • FILIPINO
  • i can buy it online or go to Trinoma! (but they're also available in the weekends at that mall that chops down pine trees in Baguio)
  • coverage! full coverage and good enough to conceal just like the description says
  • shade match, french vanilla latte is just right for me to even out my skin up from my neck, but i guess, this is good that i combined it with the cafe breve so i wouldn't look too scary fair! :P
  • no weird scents
  • pore coverage hehehe it makes my skin like i hardly have those pits you've been seeing in my obagi posts
  • for mineral makeup it lasts ALL DAY on me, but then i don't go out in the sun since i just don't do that and 2ndly, it's still a no no after that 'peeling' thing
  • i only have to blot my oil from my nose once a day
  • did not, does not, never have broken me out
  • shade range is considerable! made for all shades of pinay ;-)
  • matte finish
  • does NOT cake up
  • no oxidation
Dislikes:
  • none that i can think off (specially now that they're available at Trinoma) except that it's kinda messy, but it's the nature of loose powder, so there's little anyone can do about that :P
Do i recommend? - DEFINITELY, those that just haven't jumped into the Korean makeup bandwagon but is looking into a non-western brand, Ellana Mineral Cosmetics is you way to go
Will I repurchase: - definitely ;-)  it's a great alternate to dust over my bb creams when my hg mineral foundation is out ;-)

I love ellana minerals also. but my drawback is that this triggers my allergic rhinitis!

Hey Marge thanks for the info :) after reading your post makes me want to get one an try it. I usually see this in mega during weekends nga lang. I went to Shang the ramp today to check it out unfortunately none of the SA knew the brand and they said they don't have ellana in there. They only pointed to the stall where the charm brushes are and said that's the area where they only sell the makeup they sell at crossings. Where in crossings?

Marge said...

sis, sa trinoma na crossings, the ramp :P
