swatcheee, this is the lightest of the two shades available at target for this bb cream
and once blended, yes, it's about 2-3 shades darker than the skin on the back of my hand.  but i won't gripe about that.
so yeah, it's a tad dark on me, but somehow it kinda evened out my dark circle under my right eye
unfortunately as with most bb creams this one even with just spf15, is still kinda reflective on flash photography
now on my entire face. medyo ok naman, right?
topped with my favorite revlon colorstay mineral aqua foundation.
GarnierPh or for that matter Garnier USA didn't pay me to review this product.  My friend bought this to try it out.  She bought it about US$11 without tax at target.  so plus about a dollar of tax.
According to the dude i spoke to at the garnier event with Georgina, GarnierPh won't be bringing this bb cream to the Philippines until 2013, when in 2013, they have yet to find out.
For those of you itching to ask, I actually do not have anything against Garnier or Garnier Philippines, I just think they can do better in terms of PR people, here in the Philippines. now those people, the people that handle the PR and digital, have loads of AFI's and they continue to suck, according to one disgruntled garnier twitter contestant.

  • this is actually a BB CREAM, totally unlike the current maybelline bb cream we have in manila (the one in the blue tube that i reviewed here
  • watery but creamy so it's really easy to blend
  • 2nd bullet allows for the bb cream to be used with either your fingers or with a foundation brush of any kind, stippling, flat top synthetic, even the goat haired one
  • doesn't settle into my pores, or fine lines, doesn't make my mustache look obvious hahaha
  • a good base, it made the revlon colorstay mineral aqua foundation behave like a foundation and not just a setting powder
  • it was not cakey
  • and it did not oxidize on my face
  • made my revlon colorstay mineral aqua foundation last all day
  • didn't break me out, didn't itch on me, i had no harsh reaction to it. unfortunately the friend that gave me this DID have a nasty reaction to this.  i just wanna put it out there, that just because nothing happened to me doesn't mean that this thing is absolutely inert / harmless or lacking of reaction on you once applied
  • i actually like the lemony-citrus scent, some of you may not, but i dig it.  it doesn't smell old or fake
  • quite hydrating on my skin but not heavy
  • only two shades, oh ha, eh ako na tisay ng bonga this lighter shade of the two they have is dark on me hahaha, phhhhffft
  • at about $11, that's kinda pricey for a drugstore brand, who you? l'oreal? so asa mga PhP454.3 so hopefully dyan lang maglalaro presyo nito once it hits our shores.
  • hardly any oil control, but then it never claimed to be specific for oily combo skin
  • spf of 15, oh ha, that generally means you need to apply sunscreen before applying this, so what's the point of putting it on the label that there even is spf in here? yet it is reflective on flash photography :-(
  • i recommend this to skin shades nc30 nw 30 and higher specially the other shade
  • i recommend this to women with normal to dryer skin
In conclusion - it's nice that a western drugstore brand is able to copy a bb cream, except for the sun screen factor this is generally indeed a bb cream and not just a tinted moisturizer.  i'm also glad that a western brand stuck to their guns in not mass producing a product that will only look good on really fair women.  this gives our Filipina ladies with nc/nw30 skin shades a chance to use bb creams without looking like toshio of the grudge
So eggzited na ba kayo?

2013 pa? tagal haha! by then baka hindi na uso ang BB creams, and something better might come out.

hahaha winner :P
yep, but that info is from the pr people of garnier ph, eh you know naman wala kong kumpyansa sa mga iyon, i'll ask garnier ph directly na lang hahaha

Baka meron na silang bagong product launched in the west even before this reaches our shores. If ever it does. Haha! Love the disclaimer/rant. :)

hehehe, yep, to be fair to the brand managers of garnier philippines, they hired people in this case geisermaclang and netbooster who continue to drop the ball. so it isn't the product albeit, drugstore-y, and it isn't the people behind l'oreal/garnier that are at fault but supposed professionals hahaha
naloka ko sa kwento ng isa, twitter contest ng garnier, come pick up time of the prize, naubusan daw so halos walang nai-uwi yung nanalo.
but this bb cream, at least on me, isn't too bad. unfortunately there has been more than 2 people complaining of breakouts already's kinda risky :'(

when will this be available in phils!? so excited na ko magtry!! saan mo pala nabili yung sayo?

Marge said...

hi there:
currently hindi pa sya available sa Pilipinas. Sabi Garnierph next year pa eh :'(
pinadala sa kin ng barkada ko ito fr the states.

naaaah, there a plethora of more worthy bb creams that are available in malls anyway.
