LAST WEEK IN BB CREAM: KANEBO FRESHEL BB CREAM NB SPF41 PA++

I'm catching up on overdue posts! hehehe
so last week in bb cream, i needed something quick, with great coverage, and something that can fit in my vanity kit because i was in the middle of a very busy and stressful work week.
so i thought it was the perfect opportunity to try this out and test it.
and lookee lookee, it has spf of 41 pa of ++
and the ingredient list thanks to ratzillacosme
and their sample is in a tube and not a a sachet! hurray!
swatchee swatchee
it looks different under diff lighting.
but once blended out, it blends in as right as the shade of the back of my hand.
and the shade of the skin of my face.
and doesn't look too crappy with the crappy flash on.
and with better lighting in the women's loo.
and i caught the sun for just about a minute.
and for ease of travel and packing, i used their sample mineral powder to set the bb
I was asked by one of my readers to compare this bb cream with one of my favorite bb creams of the quarter, also from Kanebo, the Kate Mineral BB Gel Cream that I reviewed here.  there's only several differences i could tell between the two
Freshel is / has

  • matte powdery finish (while the  Kate Mineral BB Gel Cream has a soft satin-y finish) the freshel is such a powdery finish it sorta reminds me of the neutrogena bb cream that i reviewed here
  • spf is higher (while the  Kate Mineral BB Gel Cream only has 30)
  • PhP60 more expensive this is at PhP960 (while the  Kate Mineral BB Gel Cream is PhP900)
Likes:
  • high spf
  • high coverage specially when TOPped with the mineral foundation, my ofc mate who's got sharp eyes on makeup always complimented me when i wore this (more than a week) she was specific about the coverage and natural looking glow.
  • shade match is great
  • didn't break me out, no new milla, no new black heads or white heads
  • no weird scent
  • doesn't go into puddles of foundation / bb cream in my pores or surround my 'balahibo' with product
  • isn't that reflective on flash photography
  • lasts all day
  • doesn't cake up in the middle of the day
  • is also a good base if you want to TOP this with foundation
  • available in the Philippines at your Kanebo / Kate counters
  • easy to remove at the end of the day
  • takes a little product to cover my face
Neutral
  • oil control, not the best not the worst either
Dislikes
  • the price but i guess for a Japanese product, that it has 50g (instead of the usual 40), PhP960 is ok? it has a winning coverage anyway, still pricey even for a foundation.
Will I purchase the full size of this? not at the moment as i have many more matte finish bb creams but if had absolutely no matte finish bb i'd buy this
Do I recommend - there are those women out there who prefer Japanese products over Korean,  so to those, i do recommend this.  but to my kpoppin' high school to college readers, the price of this bb is pretty daunting compared to the bb creams we're used to from Korea, this is something you will have to save up for if you wanna give this a try.  if you do try this bb, you won't regret it.

So I hear, one of my fave brands back in 2009 has come out with their own bb cream, who wants me to try the VMV Hypoallergenics bb cream? (yes, it's not korean or japanese and most of all not endorsed by someone kyut/korean but it still is Pinoy/Asian).  What say you?

I loved this BB cream until I decided I am better off with light coverage foundies. I got it from AdamBeauty for around 600+, which is way cheaper. :)

Ey thanks for the headsup on the online seller :-) yeah for a drugstore brand this a good bb cream. either that or i'm 'hiyang' with Kanebo products talaga ;-)

Have you tried this with your EH Dear My Blooming pact? Does it work well with that or is it better with the Kate Powder Foundation? Does the "high coverage" mean that it can cover under eye darkness and blemishes as much as the TFS Smart Digital BB? Or to achieve that, you really have to put the powder foundation on top? I wanted to try the TFS Smart Digital because of the coverage but its too expensive for me. This Freshel one was next in mind. Thank you for your time!

hi there:
actually i have tried this bb with the dear my blooming pact and it does work well so it's not necessary that this bb cream needs to be topped with the kate powder foundation.
high coverage means in my post that i do not have to put as much concealer under my eye as i would normally, like say i was using the shini star bb cream from etude house. i would say that the coverage of this is slightly better than the tfs smart digital bb.
you're welcome ^_^

Oh, I get it now. =) How about the oil control? Can you rate it from 1-5 like what you did to the EH Sun BB? Does last all day mean you rarely need to retouch and it lasts till you remove it? Thank you again! Hope I don't bother you too much.

below likes

oil control, not the best not the worst either - so about a 2.5/5 (1 for lowest and 5 for highest)
5th item on table
-EH Sun BB - Lasting Power lasts until you remove it
;-)
you're most welcome ^_^

So they're just the same! =) That's nice to know! Thank you! I'm definitely buying this one instead of the EH or TFS Smart churva one. Parehas lang pala ng lasting power and oil control e. Thank you po!
