REVIEW: SHU UEMURA TSUYA SKIN

For those of you new to my blog, my tone in writing can be misconstrued as sarcastic and negative, it's just the way i really speak. the bottom line of most of my reviews will be under the likes and dislikes section of the article...which starts....now
Some of you may remember that the sis in law and i went to the official (non-blogger event) launch of Shu Uemura's latest magical skin care product's launch which i posted here
And here's the literature
the organic chemistry of it all, oh, it's just a symbol of all the magic it can do and not really a type of carbon molecule.
the promise of porcelain skin but petal soft to the touch
and the science and numbers of it all.
more stuff to draw you in.

the price is $85.00 sa states dito php3250 so mas mura dito ng pagkalaki laking 5usd, eh dito ka na noh dahil mas mura na wala pang shipping fee yun. gas at parking nyo lang going to shu uemura boutiques in malls.
here's what it looks like, a shot from the patron launch.
and after a while i was able to get samples from the trinoma branch.
and here's my mug after using about 2 sachets and for a week and a half.  hmmmm.  me without makeup and just the tsuya skin serum topped with my snail cream of the quarter.
ooooohhhh.  after i apply makeup.
LIKES:

  • available in the Philippines and a tad cheaper than it is in the U.S.
  • absorbed really really fast, as in really fast, so it isn't bothersome to have this step prior to your usual skin care.
  • i super love the parfum used in this, so mild and not at all overwhelming, so yeah, hindi charlie at hindi sweet honesty (alam mo na yan, sis!)
  • great for all skin types, i've got oily combo skin so this works out for me, it doesn't add 'weight' on my skin to the current skin care i am using.  after it has been absorbed it doesn't feel a thing,
  • very very light weight
  • did not break me out
  • i do think it did enhance the effectivity of my 60% snail cream, i feel that one of the scars left by one of my zits healed faster than it normally would if i were just using the 60% snail cream
  • i don't end up looking like a grease ball through out the day even after applying another product on top of this
  • this does not compound the product on top and thereby let my foundation slide off throughout the day
Neutral:
  • the 7 day thing - either i'm still hung over my holiday vacay and the most recent kpop epic concert last January 19 or i just don't see my skin any more translucent or more porcelain looking than it already is OR is not.
Dislikes:
  • as usual, for japanese products/brands - the price - but i will withdraw that anyway since 1.) it's a high end brand, and 2.) it's a japanese brand, a high end japanese one is a lot pricier than even christian dior. so i can't judge the pricing too harshly.
Final thoughts:
I really like the premise of the product, I still wanna read their definitive and final findings on the product and not just the in vitro findings that i keep reading on the web.  so far there are only two brands that are marketing rhamnose, it's this and vichy, both are l'oreal brands.  I think I did the right thing? I know I did the right thing,  I used the product for at least 7 days, it's my 10th day tonight.  I use a skin care with only 60% snail mucin and i wanted to test the truth behind the rhamnose's boosting capability.  (because in short, what it does is enhances whatever skin care you are currently using).
The budget conscious girl within me would just say, then just buy a 91% snail mucin product and skip this step.  But I will be open and understand why women say they love this so much.  It's a good serum

reviews are opinions of people. the statement from Shu Uemura Philippines that tsuya skin is for all types of skin is a fact given to me directly from the brand itself.
thank you
